Flea control for cat's
Q: Is the spray better for a cat? i have 2 cat's and 2 dog's so i would like to get what is best. all four of them are indoor, outdoor animals.
A: I find frontline plus works well for my cats.
Shop for: frontline plus, frontline

Clavamox
Q: My italian greyhoung was diagnosed with bronchitis and was prescribed clavamox and a pill that just says "cough tablets" on the bottle. my dog seems to have had an alergic reaction to the medication and i don't know which one it was, or if it was the combination of the two. also, i don't know what is in the "cough tablets" so it's even more difficult to know what is happening to him. please help.
A: Clavamox is an augmented penicillin and would be the most likely candidate for causing an allergic reaction. you would need to check with your veterinarian as to which medicine he gave you that was labeled "cough tablets" to determine the ingredients.

Frequent wetting by 16 yr old dog
Q: What can i do to keep my 16 yr old dog from wetting 4 and 5 times a night? i took her water away at night but she still wets often. i
A: Might need incontinence meds like phenylproponolamine as this is common in this aged dog. also have urine checked for infection as well

Heartworm for dog and cat
Q: I have a dog that weighs 61#, a pup that weighs 22# and a cat that weighs about 12#. i notice that the interceptor dose for the heavier dog is the same for the cat. how can this be right?
A: This is an excellent question. because of the cat's metabolism, the amount of this medication per pound is higher in the cat. therefore a 12 lb cat gets the same dose as a 61 lb dog.
Shop for: interceptor

Bladder cancer
Q: How long can a 15 year old dog live with this condition ? and at that age is it adviseable to treat aggresively ? thank you. susan
A: Dogs can live variable periods with this disease, and usually most people will choose palliative treatment with drug called piroxicam which can help with symptoms and allow them to live comfortably for months.

Heartworms
Q: How do i find out if my dogs have a heartworm
A: That requires an exam and blood test by your veterinarian.
